Rescue Fenix has a small shelter in Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, approximately 360 miles south of the Texas border.
Founders Georgina Parsa and Norma Yolanda Sauceda Sevilla saw a great need to help the animals in Sonora who suffer from neglect, abandonment and disease. From their passion, determination and commitment, Rescue Fenix and the Sonoran Shelter was born. Run solely by volunteers and a dedicated vet team, animals are given shelter, food and medical care in a loving and safe environment. Once healthy, these dogs make their way to the U.S. where they find loving homes thanks to our rescue partners.
The shelter goes through 100 lbs. of food each day and the medical bills never end, but each life saved is a victory for all. Like the mythical Phoenix bird, the dogs of Rescue Fenix rise from the ashes of their abuse, abandonment and neglect to find a second chance at life.
